The Solution

When families are isolated, struggling financially, or battling mental or other health issues, a small crisis can quickly spiral into a catastrophe. As pressure builds, lone parents may not be able to manage, and tragically, families can be separated when they don’t want to be. During those difficult times, simple acts of kindness can be a lifeline. Someone to look after the kids, do work around the house, cook meals, or meet up to offer a sympathetic ear can relieve stress and pressure before it becomes insurmountable. That’s what our volunteers are doing for isolated families across Edinburgh, Midlothian, West Lothian, and Glasgow.

Safe Families for Children acts as a bridge between families who are struggling and volunteers from local churches who want to offer their time and resources to help.

With Safe Families, what volunteers do to help is flexible because no two families’ situations are the same. We’re not a rigid service, offering cookie cutter solutions to complex problems. We’re connecting lonely families to people who genuinely care about them. We’re helping the church fulfil its potential as a beacon of hope in a dark world. We’re doing our part to bring the Kingdom of Heaven to earth.
